Few animals have featured as prominently in the human imagination as the bear. From early Paleolithic cave paintings to recent diagnoses of ‘bearanoia, the story of the Ursidae family has constantly fascinated mankind.  Throughout our shared history the various interactions between humans and bears raise the same question over and again: do our images of bears have anything in common with the animal as it really is?
